1. Make Necessary Preparations.

• Learn about School. First of all you will need to find out location and address of your school and how to get there. The school website is a great source of such information. Also take these actions:
  • Find out your child’s teacher contact info (phone number, email).
  • Note phone numbers of the school administration for reporting absences and checking school closures.
  • Get the school handbook and read it together with your child.

  • Carpool. Consider arranging a carpool and introduce your child to other children and adults.
• Help Your Kid to Get Prepared for School. Your child needs some help when preparing for school. You can take the following actions to help your child:
  • Be a friend to the kid and discuss his/her feelings about going back to school.
  • Assist him/her to investigate the daily school schedule.
  • Talk about peer pressure and give some suggestions.
  • Make sure your kid has memorized your house address and contact numbers.
  • Go to school together and help find classrooms, restroom and cafeteria.
  • Meet with your child’s teacher.
