1. Establishing sponsorship goals

  • Think over what goals of sponsorship projects you intend to achieve
  • Goals should be specific, clear and consistent
  • The most possible goals can be as follows:
    • reach larger target audience
    • promote a new brand or idea
    • promote corporate image
    • capture a new market
  • Verify that goals are not in conflict with corporate vision
  • Identify a project that pursues established goals

2. Costing sponsorship project

  • Create a budget for the project according to established goals
  • Break the project costs down into manageable pieces. For example, there can be the following items:

    • equipment and materials
    • human resources
    • administration and staff
    • taxes

3. Choosing a partner

    • what potential benefits will they get then?
    • will your company really benefit from being linked up with them?
    • how will their activities reflect on your company (positively or negatively)?

  • Work out an agreement once all details have been discussed with the partner
  • Carefully review all the terms of the agreement and make sure you include:
    • basic activities and milestones for the project
    • responsibilities for both parties
