  TESTIMONIALS
"...This is an excellent program. I'm so glad that I stumbled on to this when researching for task management programs. Very low learning curv, quite flexible, and the price is right. Tried at least 20 other programs, either too complicated, too expensive, or poor documentation..."

  1. What are the reasons of fires?
    • Fires are started deliberately
    • People are insufficiently aware of information and fire hazards, so fires occur
    • People often disregard fire hazards and activities, so fires occur
  2. Workplace guidelines
    • Make sure all the staff members of your company are encouraged to keep their workplaces clean and tidy. Do not allow storing documents and papers under desks because a fire may occur caused by an electrical fault.
    • Deny smoking at workplace and near potentially flammable materials.
    • Make sure all workplaces are equipped with bins, so no trash will be on the floor.
    • If some of your employees work with flammable materials, make sure that metal containers with fitting lids are available for dangerous waste materials.
    • Instruct your staff members in keeping cupboards and lift shafts, as well as spaces under benches and behind radiators free from dust and rubbish.
  3. Fire Prevention Plan
    • Preventing fires from occurring is the most efficient way to handle them. As an employer, you need to develop and implement a written fire prevention plan in order to complement the evacuation plan and minimize the time required for people evacuation. The written plan should be available for reviewing by employees of your company.
    • Housekeeping procedures for storage and cleanup of flammable materials should be covered by the plan. You need to describe procedures for recycling flammable waste (such as paper) and packaging flammable materials.
    • Programs and procedures for controlling workplace ignition sources (such as smoking, burning and welding) should be included in the fire prevention plan. You need to address equipment treating procedures in the plan to properly treat heat producing equipment (such as burners, heat exchangers, stoves, boilers, ovens etc.). Make sure flammable materials are not stored close to equipment.
    • Training programs should be implemented on a regular basis. Your employees should be well trained in fire evacuation procedures and aware of what actions to undertake in case of fire hazard, according to the action plan.
    • The fire safety and prevention plan should be reviewed by all existing and new employees of your company; any changes to the plan should be announced to the employees.
  4. Evacuation Plan
    • As mentioned before, allow your staff to smoke in specifically designated areas only.
    • Make sure stairway entrances are never blocked, even temporarily. Steps and ladders should be kept clear of any obstructions (e.g. office furniture, cartons, bicycles, compressed gas cylinders).
    • Corridors, hallways, and aisles should be never blocked by any obstructions. Otherwise obstructions may impede escape routes in case of fire hazard.
    • Storage area should be kept orderly. Any accumulation of trash, rags or debris causes unsafe conditions and fire danger.
    • Equipment and appliances should be regularly maintained and defective components should be timely removed or repaired. Make sure electrical cords are always placed away from aisles or other walkways, and electrical outlets are never overloaded by using multiple extension cords.
  5. Fire Suppression System
    • A properly designed and installed fire prevention and suppression system will increase fire safety in your company. Today automatic sprinkling systems are considered as the most reliable fire fighting means. When testing your system, make sure it detects the fire, sounds an alarm and takes water to the place where the fire and heat are located.
    • Automatic fire prevention and fighting systems require proper maintenance to keep them in serviceable condition. You should regularly test and examine your system. In case some troubles with the system are detected, you need to call a specialist up to fix the system.
    • Use signs on the wall to show areas protected by total flooding caused by your fire fighting system. Your employees should know about the protected area. There should be an emergency plan on the wall to provide your employees with safe evacuating ways and means of escape within the protected area. Such emergency plans are parts of the overall evacuation plan.
