 Project Processes Assessment (What to assess).

  • Planning Process: You need to monitor basic activities of the planning process to make sure resources required for your project are in place and available for use. You should focus on the assessment of the next activities:
    • Scoping the project (goal & objectives setting; deliverables definition)
    • Creating the work breakdown structure and task decomposition
    • Estimating time and effort
    • Scheduling tasks and setting milestones
    • Costing and resourcing the project
    • Analyzing risks and creating risk mitigation strategies
    • Setting roles and responsibilities for project stakeholders
    • Making assumptions
    • Implementation Process: When you start implementing your project you need to be sure that resources (time, people, money, technology, information) are distributed and used appropriately. In your document plan, add tasks to assess the next activities of the implementation process:

      • Budgeting and Cost Control

      • Resource Allocation
      • Quality assurance and control
      • Staff training and team support

  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis and measure project effectiveness (Were investments worth the benefits obtained?)
